If you use above 80%, it evaporates too fast and may not reach all parts of the skin + may not stay long enough to kill the virus.
More importantly: above 90% is toxic if you breathe and a very very serious fire hazard. //@Anonymous: But, but, but that person clearly said that you should dilute alcohol. Sounds that person is much smarter than the entire CDC so everyone should listen to him //@anonymous: You don’t need to dilute for killing sars-cov-2 only. CDC recommends a range of 60-95% alcohol based hand sanitizer for Covid-19. But 70% alcohol is a wider spectrum germicide that also kills other germs such as bacteria. It also evaporates slower than higher concentration alcohol. //@anonymous: Can you provide the CDC link says you need to dilute alcohol to 70-75% to prevent covid19? //@anonymous: In terms of disinfection, 70% alcohol is better than higher concentration. If you get a 80-100% alcohol product, better dilute it if possible. Google with terms such as “70% alcohol vs 90% alcohol”, you will get explanations about the mechanism of action. //@anonymous: Woots sells 80% alcohol sanitizer, amazon also has many 80%-100% alcohol products //@anonymous: Could be a precaution to high concentration alcohol. The US products usually contain 62-70% ethyl alcohol, or 70% isopropyl alcohol. There is really no need to go beyond 70%. At least the safety data sheet shows the content is ethyl alcohol, not methanol as some people suspected. LOL...

Thought the major concern was methanol contamination, which had been addressed by the safety data sheet... //@anonymous: Lol. Two things you need to do in order to address ur concern. 1. 70% is minimal, for capsid viruses like Sars-CoV2, ethanol can effectively reduce the titer of the viruses. have you purchased exactly these wipes and smelled them? or you can tell the smell from other people's reviews? //@Anonymous: LOL, have you ever smelled methanol? If people cannot smell difference between ethanol and methanol, she/he will not tell difference between wine and pee. And yes I can smell difference of 100% ethanol and 70%. //@anonymous: If smell can be used to identify methanol or ethanol, why need expensive analytical instruments? Can you tell difference between 100% ethanol or 70% just based on smell? Smell is very subjective feeling, someone think it is good, the others not! How bias are you? Show me solid evidence, I don’t believe FDA use smell to tell those made in Mexico sanitizers having methanol. If you can differentiate methanol from ethanol just with your nose, you should use it to make a lot of money. lol //@anonymous: Good quality alcohol does not have strong odor even at 200 proof (100%) but methanol does. Good luck //@anonymous: Do you have any evidence to prove? If not, how come you get this conclusion? Something blind your mind? //@anonymous: They were surely made from industry grade alcohol which contains many other things such as methanol. FDA already warned that many sanitizers contain too much methanol //@anonymous: Very bad review regarding the scent. Will pass.

Oh really, you can tell 100% and 70%? How do you know it is 100%? Based on label? But seems you don’t trust label. Maybe it is only 90%? Haha. Take a look the reviews of another hand sanitizer on dealsea, how many people complain the smell, does that also have methanol? Just google the Purell sanitizer which you are proud of, how many people complained about smell? Does it have methanol? And how much? Please tell use with your sensational nose. Lol. You just believe what you believe. How pathetic are you! You think wine is good, but someone not, you cannot use your bias personal experience to judge everything. It is funny to use wine and pee to compare methanol and ethanol. Seems you can only figure out wine and pee, for you, not bad, congratulations! //@anonymous: LOL, have you ever smelled methanol?
