Agreed. Whoever made these rules are either stupid or have under-table deal with those communication companies. //@Anonymous: You're right about the criteria. But it is still stupid. If you have that much income to report on your tax return without a job, why those receiving less than that working their ass off do not qualify!? //@anonymous: You miss some key requirement criteria. If your 2020 income was at or below $99,000 for a single filer or $198,000 for joint filers. that's only HALF of the criteria. you needs to show that you were in furlough or layoff state during some time of the 2020 year. //@Anonymous: I don't understand. The rules are absurd. I get it that "income at or below 135% of the federal poverty guidelines", however "at or below $99,000 for a single filer or $198,000 for joint filers". At least 80% of US family will qualify this since the median family income is about 60k~70k if I remember correctly. Did I misunderstand anything?

OK, thanks for the clarification. That sounds better. Still I feel that the bar were set so low/easy to pass. Even if someone was in furlough or layoff state during some time of the 2020 year, making 99k a year is still way better than most ppl. //@Anonymous: You miss some key requirement criteria. Yes if single filer, otherwise double, but there's other qualifications. I'll let the people that need this program take it. //@Anonymous: If I understand this correctly, if I made less than 99k last year. I qualify?
