micro center is my first store choice, if there's one around you, esp in NJ, they somehow got down the tax to 3.5% in the garden state, while state tax around double that. Last time, I was checking a Mac mini, micro center got nice promotions like 150 off, and with the tax save makes it even sweeter. Not avaialbe in NY on the special tax save.

They locked all my family lines after a month for so called social engineering fraud but declined to provide any detail. just a heads up to people whose order was cancelled. the phones were returned to verizon warehouse and I received the refund of taxes today. however I got an email saying your device promotinal credit has been removed from your account. it doesn't make sense. The account should be closed. guess what, I called Verizon contact number and the account is still active and there's a service bill waiting for me. thank god, I called and these numbers I've never used/accessed were 'disconnected,' and I was told the charge would be credited back.

Recently got similar experience with Visible/Verizon. They flagged one account with spamming, and suspended it permanently. The account was for my middle schooler who had a lot of group messages with teachers and classmates. They counted both sending and receiving. It is not a big deal for teenagers to lose a phone number but I am about to leave Visible anyway. Their spamming detection algorithm sucks, with only ability to hurt good users but fraudsters.
