I have frequently lost signal, not been able to have 5G connection, and seen battery drain ever since I switched to Pixel 7/7 Pro. My old Pixel 4a never had these problems. Pixel 7 and 8 use Samsung modems, which are known to have a lot of issues with various carriers. Even Samsung flagships use Qualcomm modems.

No wonder Chase started Apple points redemption early this year … our points are a liability for them. Waiting for reward redemption to hit 50-75%. See below from JPM Annual Report:
Credit card rewards liability
JPMorgan Chase offers credit cards with various rewards programs which allow cardholders to earn rewards points based on their account activity and the terms and conditions of the rewards program. Generally, there are no limits on the points that an eligible cardholder can earn, nor do the points expire, and the points can be redeemed for a variety of rewards, including cash (predominantly in the form of account credits), gift cards and travel. The Firm maintains a rewards liability which represents the estimated cost of rewards points earned and expected to be redeemed by cardholders. The liability is accrued as the cardholder earns the benefit and is reduced when the cardholder redeems points. This liability was $13.2 billion and $11.3 billion at December 31, 2023 and 2022,

It’s like reading two chipmunks talking to each other trying to figure out what humans do. Both of you are wrong and are misinterpreting “liability” in the stated context. The “liability” is based on total credit issued across cc products that have rewards tied to spending. It has more to do with spending “rebates” and is a fixed range for share holder reporting purposes. //@anonymous: Good finding. I don't think it is a good deal. The points are worth 25% actually equal 20% off on the iPhone. For iPhone or Apple product, sometime it is easy to find the equivalent deal for 20% off. Example, Holiday or Carrier on sale, or purchase gift cards $100 get $15 additional. However, don't forget the Chase point has another essential value that also purchase air ticket with the same deal as well as 20% off. It is not always that you can find 20% off for the air ticket. I rather spending the points on the air ticket, but not on iPhone or Apple products. //@Anonymous: Even 25% is good deal !

And bud fix //@anonymous: Pixel phones no doubt have the best Android experience. I would wait a half year to ten months to save hundreds of $$$ //@anonymous: I am enjoying it, got it for $550 on the day that Samsung announced S24. Super performance. Switch back to Android again.

iPhone 12 and later finally switched to Qualcomm modems but they still have numerous cellular reception issues. You need repeatedly switch to airplane mode and back to fix it. //@anonymous: Since Pixel 6 Google switched to Tensor processor integrated with a Samsung Exynos modem. Since then, numerous issues appeared. So far Samsung phones never used it's own Exynos modem.

Manually switch to airplane mode also temporarily fix Pixel signal issues. And problem is rare if you use LTE instead of 5G. Obviously 5G towers need to be blamed as well. //@anonymous: iPhone 12 and later finally switched to Qualcomm modems but they still have numerous cellular reception issues. it'll be $449 if you go from play store and google fi, just 120 days after activation, consider $20 for a month just for call and text, that's around 4mon $20*4=$80 extra for the extra service, not bad. Price still beat the $539 here

The only thing I want Samsung to improve is the face/fingerprint unlock. It's pretty OK on my S22, but still slower and less accurate than my older Apple phone. I wonder if this S24 is better.

Yes. You pay $20 flat. Everything (all taxes and fees) is included. I have been their customer for the last 2 years. Use code 3RTG39C to get a $20 discount on your first month of service. //@Anonymous: is $20/mo a flat fee? it mentioned tax & fees are included. I switched from Verizon to Visible. Don’t know why, but even the $45 plan with priority had low priority in public areas. Also, slow speed, usually 20 mb/s. No problem when using Verizon, saying that Visible has extremely low priority in the Verizon network. Now switched to another t-mobile network service and all problems are gone

So disappointing. Apple use to do new things or at least purchase the tech and then call its own like the phone OS & dr dre. Now a days, under mr crook, it just still others ideas and tech and shamelessly call its own. They did the same with ecg tech too but got away with it. But this time they were caught with blood oxygen measure. Apple, start doing your own thing and if you want to use other's tech, at least pay them

If you think Apple doesn’t have patent rights on the sensors you’re nuts. This is a patent dispute in the US where the ITC is prohibiting the sales and Apple is obliging until the next move.

New iPhone from Apple:
128 GB: $799
256 GB: $899
With 3% cash back if you have Apple Card the price difference is under $100 (as low as ~$73 for the 256 GB model).
Not worth buying open box unless you get a steeper price discount
