You will always need an IPhone to set the Apple Watch up. It does not have to be on cellular, wifi is fine, but you need an IPhone.

Don't trust Samsung any more. My Samsung monitor lasted 2 years. My other monitors last at least 5 years or more and were cheaper. My Samsung fridge lasted 3 years. One of the Samsung pads lasted a year, the other one longer.

I personally think apple tags are useless for all practical purposes. It is at best works if it is in the same room as your phone. You move to a different location with as minimum as with 2-3 walls it does not work. To those people who think AirTags only work when they are connected to "your" iPhone, that is not the case. AirTags connect to any phone nearby and you can find your stuff from anywhere far using your Find My app.

Interesting, how far you located it? I am not sure if you ever have it. Your receptor reports last static ordinates whenever it was within the range. I hid them in backpack, luggage, car to track. Very useful. I guess people also use it track their kids and pets.
