I had both AMD and Intel based computers in my past. I never had any issues with CPUs at all. Problems occurred with RAM, HDDs, controllers, power supplies, even motherboard, but I never had issues with CPUs.

I bought three AMD cpus. apu-3870k, 2 apu-5870k. All of them are working fine till the day. Not sure why you are saying they don't last
