Can you make a valid counter argument instead of simple denial //@anonymous: you need to re-study the utility theory //@Anonymous: I do love Daiso too. Excellent, excellent bargain. But Villeroy Boch isn't Daiso. In purchasing a product with design, there is typically diminishing marginal returns. By paying 10 times, one almost certainly won't get a mug that is 10 times better -- just a flying Business or First doesn't give something that is 20-50 times better than flying economy, if one accepts the assumption that the most important part of flying is getting to one's destination. //@Anonymous: got this similar cup at Daiso, $1.50

They seem difficult to store. Will probably take up much cupboard space. I will pass.

Give this a try before you judge it. It's not just the fancy design -- the quality of its porcelain is much higher than the US average. This brand actually makes amazing bathtubs. There are far more expensive brands out there, but I see this as a good middle ground. Again, you can live a simple life -- you can spend thousands of dollars on a bag or be happy with re-using plastic bags. I started with a $15-dollar V-B plate in my college year -- that plate still looks new, no coloration or chipping. I now own multiple items and have been very happy with their products. //@Anonymous: Pier one sells nice quality mugs which are from $3.0...

Wait, hold up! Dollar Store sells pants? Which location? I'm going there! //@anonymous: Indeed, one can live a very simple life and even survive on 50-cent mugs, just as one can survive with dollar-store shirts and pants. Why pay $5 then? //@Anonymous: regular mug, $5.00. you don't need to visit dealsea. //@Anonymous: I love this cup and this brand in general -- so much better than cups usually founds in US stores.
