which "certain masks"? home made fabric ones ? //@anonymous: Recent Duke University study published on Science revealed that wearing certain face masks is worse than not wearing masks. //@anonymous: Real or fake. Better than not wearing a face mask. If you are so paranoid, stay home! //@anonymous: Those are Fake! don't buy through Ebay //@Anonymous: you can get 3 (150pcs) pack for that price on Ebay.
NOT A DEAL

I have family members working in these mask company in China, many 3-layer masks marked as NOT for medical use because if they marked YES it will take the gov 7-14 days to process more docs before exporting overseas. So back in March~May, many manufacturers chose to mark it non-medical so it can be exported faster, but in fact they are from the same line. I'm not saying healthcare workers shall trust the NON-medical masks but these 3-layer ones are generally better than cloth masks for people going to supermarkets...

By anonymous on 08/13/2020, 12:06 PM EDT
I have the both. they are the same. I cut it open, did several test, burning, anti-water, abosorbing water, air blow through. I don't see any difference. //@anonymous: Model: FE2211 is a general purpose mask. It is classified as a type 2 on the box. The quality is better than the cheap no name masks you see everywhere but it is not medical grade. The surgical grade BYD mask looks the same in pictures but they will cost $35+/box. The box will say Surgical Mask as opposed to Face Mask.

If they mark the mask as medical masks, they would NEVER be able to sell it to consumers. And there are many reasons for that. Some of the so-called medical or procedure masks are not so good and I am not talking about the fake ones. As long as they pass the fire test, water test, and electromagnetism test, they will provide good protection against COVID-19. //@anonymous: medical grade should be marked on box , not you say it is medical because you tested .

By anonymous on 07/27/2020, 05:41 PM EDT
Not true, if you check Amazon box, it's the same. ATSM level I, whether you call it medical is not the point. //@Anonymous: This batch of BYD looks different from BYD sold by Amazon a couple of weeks ago, which was a medical grade. I had bought many masks from China before, and they were all clearly marked 'not for medical usages'. //@Anonymous: medical grade should be marked on box , not you say it is medical because you tested . //@Anonymous: These are the medical ones. I tested these and some chinese brands against those from a medical clinic where they have been using for years. Those used in the medical clinic perform worse in both waterproof and electromagnetic tests. Why? A mask is a mask as long as it’s using good non-woven fabric. With COVID19, real manufacturers are making sure they are getting good quality non-woven fabrics except for some fake one which you really need to be careful. The ones sold by Walmart (not third-party seller) are very good. I haven’t tested any from EBay or Amazon so I am not sure if those are good. You buy from Ebay or Amazon, or even Walmart (every sale seemed to be from different manufacturers although they were sold by Walmart), make sure you test them for waterproof/resistance and electromagnetism. //@anonymous: $14.99 should be able to get a box of medical one

You may try to survive for another 4 months and see if the price meets your expectation. //@anonymous: are you sure it is $14.99, not $4.99? It is not 4 months ago....

Got mine from Costco 18.99 for a box of 50 great quality from Costco wonder if this are as good //@anonymous: This brand is quite good. I noticed a lot of people still don't wear masks, and they are here arguing whether it is a medical mask, ridiculous...

Not worse than 4 months ago. Really?? //@anonymous: Yeah, you are right. Now is not four months ago. The mask should be more expensive b/c the situation in US is becoming worse.

youtube has lots videos. make sure your masks pass 3 tests -- fire, water (at least few hours of resistance), and electromagnetism. //@anonymous: how to test it //@Anonymous: These are the medical ones. Thought I could get one pack for $4.99. But now everyday there are 80K cases, no way can one get masks at $4.99 (errrh, trash excluded)

By anonymous on 07/27/2020, 07:41 AM EDT
4 months ago will be $49.99. //@anonymous: I would pay $20 for BYD as oppose the fakes at $9 on Ebay or Amazon. Those wearing cloth ones are clueless. //@anonymous: are you sure it is $14.99, not $4.99? It is not 4 months ago....

It is ridiculous to compare some no brands with this. Be reasonable, the BYD masks are almost the same price as in China now. //@anonymous: are you sure it is $14.99, not $4.99? It is not 4 months ago....
