Ink is nothing more than a plastic box with a sponger inside and a chip outside. I refilled it for 12 years, until the chip eventually burn. A group of bottles of ink costs you 15 dollar (black and 3 other colors) and can survive for 3-5 years

Buy generic ink cartridges (with new chips) - many are cheap but work fairly well.

Isn't it hard to re-sell a printer like this when it doesn't have ink?

It is crazy the ink cost more than the printer. Other than the ink cost, it is a decent printer for small print job.
