Any iPad Pro you buy ever are future proof for at least 5+ years. I am still using an older iPad Pro with physical Touch ID which is hard to get rid off. No real need to upgrade for daily browsing, binge watching or gaming.

Waiting for iPad Pro 2022 or buy this? I thing 2022 will use M2 chip.

I own one and wouldn't recommend it to anybody. Save up extra $300 and get a better laptop or stick to iPad if you need touch ability. Surface is too overpriced. It overheats, can't game on it or do some creator stuff such as music, art or video editing.
I own both M1 iPad Pro and Surface Pro 8. Had to get something portable and on windows for work (basic Adobe and Office stuff as well as .exe app that only runs on windows). Don't actually benefit from touch screen as the screen is tiny to fully enjoy the Windows 11 //@anonymous: Amazon and best buy has latest Microsoft Surfrace Pro 8 512GB for $1040 with Windows 11 full laptop operations!

successfully match the price on Target.com

The M1 is apples strategy to reduce cost for its high-end glued M1 ultra chips.

This is indication that next version of iPad Pro is coming soon. Still a good price comparing to newest iPad Air tonight

Deal?

By anonymous on 01/11/2022, 09:10 AM EST
apple ipads and iphones haven't changed much over the years. New one is always better but they are not worth the prices sky high Apple is asking ... any old one is good enough for all most all purposes.. no big reasons for latest and greatest are that Apple's marketing is selling

I have the M1 and also the first generation (2018). I honestly cannot tell the difference -- there are very few Apps that take advantage of the M1 power. That said, who knows about the future. Perhaps monster apps will come out in 2025? But then you will probably surely want to get a new Ipad. If budget is a concern, I'd go for a used 2018 for even less -- really same function. The only exception is if you care about the front camera -- the 2021 has a wide camera and it's great for facetime/zoom. //@Anonymous: either this one $699 of the second gen $599 ? any idea which one is worth

What do you save on your iPad? I never used up the storage on my iPad. Just wondering. //@anonymous: 128 GB storage is not enough

100 to future proof for 1 year? 2022 will say this one is outdated too. eventually all e-trash //@Anonymous: pay $100 more to future proof your purchase. //@Anonymous: I personally bought the 2 gen since it's $100 cheaper. //@Anonymous: either this one $699 of the second gen $599 ? any idea which one is worth

Get the cheaper one. There will be minimal differences by the time when you upgrade to a newer one. //@anonymous: either this one $699 of the second gen $599 ? any idea which one is worth

Me too. I have $1000+ left in my Apple account since then. //@Anonymous: Also used gift card purchased from target with 25% off during last thanksgiving :-) //@anonymous: Just got one this morning through Apple education store, with free back to school AirPods for the same price. And I also traded in my old iPad. I that’s a better deal. //@anonymous: That is no XDR display. //@anonymous: 11" has M1 but no Mini LED //@Anonymous: My bad, 11" does have the M1 chip.
