Remember, this newer Apple pencil is budget version of Apple Pencil 2nd gen. No pressure sensitivity. Its great for those who only want to write, take notes etc not drawing or painting. So check if this newer pencil suitable for you or not.

This is just a USB-C version of the 1st Gen Apple Pencil, just like the USB-C version of AirPods Pro 2

This is cheaper in MSRP compared to gen 2. So actually cutting some functions like wireless charging, pressure senselitivity double tap... //@anonymous: As far as wireless charging--the second generation pencil already does that, not sure why this one doesn't. I guess if you're a heavy user wired charging can be done faster and while in use.

For all of Apple's genius, they couldn't foresee the need to wirelessly charge the pencil where it magnetically attaches, rather than having to charge it via wire. Samsung has done this for ages. Eventually they will make it a feature and it will blow everyone's mind. Mark my words...
