That is Apple's trick. For me, 512GB seems to be the minimal disk space I need. After one year of usage, I used about 260GB as a developer. So I will have to pay the $200 for that 256GB. //@Anonymous: $200 for just 256GB

I think Apple realizes people aren't buying iPhones every year. Basically the market is saturated with high-end iPhones that will last 2 to 4 years. This is why their trying to push as many MacBooks as possible.

Just got one from bestbuy store. I checked the serial number and it was not registered. Just as the store employee told me that the buyer changed the mind and it is just like new with the only exception that it was boxed in a brown box instead of white one.

most complaints are from 2TB version. it seem 2TB ones got lots of failures. so please check and do more research before purchasing them.

i bought three 4tb and two 2tb of them as a photographer, i fill them on a daily basis....2tb are dead, didnt even make it 6 months, before files went missing or corrupt. two of the 4tb developed same issues just took 9-10 months....sandisk replaced them all, and i sold the new ones they sent me. changed over to a usb-c nvme enclosure and nvme drives, no issues. //@Anonymous: Just because most people bought 2TB version. Don’t the connectors on these break or developed issues very easily? I have a 4TB version that doesn’t get recognized unless the cable is held at a very specific angle and pressure.
